GinFest is an event we (Gill & Emma) organise to give us an excuse to buy gin! As a wonderful added bonus we also raise money for charity. This will be the forth year of GinFest and this time we are staying close to home and partaking in the delights of Hampshire gins.
When and where is GinFest?
It will take place in Gill's garden on Saturday 30th June from 7pm. If the weather is rubbish or Gill's body goes on strike we reserve the right to change the date or location!
How will it work?
Just pay the bargain price of £16 by buying a ticket online here. We will buy many many interesting and unusual gins.
We'll provide tasting notes and all the necessary tonics and garnishes. This is self-directed gin tasting - so just get stuck in! It will be fun and educational...honest. Nick & Pete the barmen will be there to keep order.
Can I do anything to help?
Yes please! The tasks that will need doing are:
Set-up on the day - putting up tables, laying out the gin, decorating the garden, etc.
Food - I was thinking something simple like crisps, olives, bread & cheese. This will need buying and setting up on the day.
Decorations - if you have any North America themed decorations that could be used in the garden, please let me know.
Other drinks - soft drinks and non-gin alcoholic drink donations appreciated
Cushions & bean bags - we need lots of these! We're setting up a Bedouin style tent affair in the garden so you can just laze around and drink
But I really hate gin!
No problem! We shall make sure we include some other forms of beverage for those who have not yet been converted to the way of the gin. Given the Hampshire theme, we will endeavour to find rum or equivalent from that locale!
But I don't drink!
No problem! We will be including some non-alcoholic gins this year. Designed to be as satisfying as drinking gin but without the hangover!
Will there be a charity this year?
Absolutely. There will be a raffle (donations welcome) in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
